About Us

Whilst in my pastry chef apprenticeship I had created a few wedding cakes for friends and thought it was something I wanted to explore further down the track. Living in London and working as a dessert chef in 2004 I found I wanted to expand my horizons and thought it was time to give cake decorating a go. I hadn’t expected to fall in love with it so quickly!

I have developed a strong passion for designing and creating ‘edible art’ and it is so important for me that not only should the cake be visually stunning, it must also taste incredibly delicious. With my background as a dessert chef I think I’ve found a winning combination. The ‘ooohs and aaahs’ I hear from clients when they see their cakes for the first time gives me immense satisfaction. The cake is often considered the finale of a celebration and it should have that memorable ‘wow factor’, which will have the guests talking.

The name Queen of Cakes does not come from me believing I am ‘cake royalty’. It’s a name I’ve loved since I received a greeting card from my brother and sister-in-law years ago titled ‘Queen of Cake’ with a picture of a little girl I believe looked like me as a child.
